MWC 2023: Intel Launches 4th Gen Xeon Scalable Processors – Everything You Need to Know
At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona, popular chip maker Intel has announced the 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with Intel vRAN Boost. The company also announced Intel Infrastructure Power Manager for 5G core reference software, which offers 30 percent average runtime CPU power savings.
According to the brand, Intel vRAN Boost delivers a double capacity increase and up to 20 percent additional power savings with integrated acceleration that meets critical performance, scaling and energy efficiency requirements.
Intel also introduced the Intel Converged Edge Media Platform, which provides multiple video services from a shared multi-tenant architecture and leverages cloud-based scalability to intelligently respond to changing demands.

According to Intel, through a combination of processing innovation and feature integration, Intel expects 4th generation Xeon Scalable processors with Intel vRAN Boost to match or better the power per watt of the best Layer 1 SoC accelerator cards on the market while offering benefits. software-defined virtualized networks.
In addition, the new Intel Infrastructure Power Manager for 5G Core reference software dynamically matches runtime server power consumption to data traffic without compromising key performance indicators such as throughput, latency and packet drop.
Intel’s hardware and software solutions will enable 5G backbone networks to work harder and smarter to achieve a balance between critical business and customer demands for energy efficiency, performance and latency, the company said.
In addition to integrated network acceleration built into 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Intel is expanding its Agilex 7 FPGA and eASIC N5X architecture ASICs for cloud, communications and embedded applications.
